Torniamo a parlare di Bill Monroe con questo nuovo box realizzato dalla Bear Family per un totale di 4 CD, un DVD con ben 30 pezzi e il consueto booklet ricco di notizie e foto delle tappe in Germania da parte di Bill e i suoi Blue Grass Boys avvenute nel 1975 e nel 1989.
Queste due rare e uniche occasioni di vedere il padre del bluegrass dal vivo avevano portato una quantità di fans da diverse parti del mondo e gli spettacoli proposti dal gruppo sono stati veramente eccezionali.
Anche nel 1989, nonostante i gravi problemi di salute che Bill Monroe aveva appena superato, lo spettacolo è stato assolutamente imperdibile.
Il materiale registrato in queste due occasioni e raccolto in questo box diventa oggi ancora più prezioso vista la crescente passione per il bluegrass e trattandosi sicuramente di un personaggio, scomparso nel settembre del 1996, che può essere definito a pieni voti il ‘Padre del Bluegrass’.
