Normalmente ci sono solo cinque candidati per categoria, a meno che un pareggio non imponga un sesto.
Inoltre Becky Isaacs Bowman ha ricevuto una nomination per il miglior album Gospel Roots per Songs That Pulled Me Through The Tough Times; per la categoria Miglior album folk la nomination a Dom Flemons per Traveling Wildfire, Nickel Creek per Celebrants e Old Crow Medicine Show per Jubilee.
